TJR and GTA at Ruby Skye Event Review February 26th
The club going up on a Thursday? Yes, most definitely. The place to be and party last week before the weekend hit was Ruby Skye. Nestled in downtown San Francisco next to the Financial District, Ruby Skye is a mecca of everything and anything electronic dance music. Control – an LA based promoter – recently took over Ruby Skye’s weekly Thursday 18+ events and they’ve been able to bring in some amazing acts. The 1-2 punch last week was TJR and GTA and wow was it a show filled with massive energy and an amazing atmosphere that was oozing good vibes.
The line was well around the block around 11pm. People passing by were wondering to themselves what could possibly be going on tonight that brought this many people out. Well, to be honest they had no clue what was in store once they were in Ruby.
As TJR got on the decks around midnight, thumper after thumper was played with a great mix of trap and hard hitting baseline pumping electro. There was barely time breath, but that’s what makes it fun, right? The energy climaxed continually throughout his set and did not stop at all once GTA got on the decks. The crowd stayed vibrant and strong throughout the night even to to early hours of Friday morning. How could you leave this, and I’m sure many of people in the crowd asked the same question and could not give a reasonable answer. Despite many of them having school and work the next day, they stayed to party, dance, and most importantly live in the moment. Tickets were selling for over $50 at the box office and the show did sell out. Keep in-mind this is a Thursday night. All-in-all it was worth every penny and if you get a chance to see these two on their North American tour, do no hesitate, go!
