The hip-hop superstar Lil Wayne and chart-topping singer/songwriter/producer Charlie Puth have teamed up to release their official video for “Nothing But Trouble,” the first single found on the 808 film soundtrack. The soundtrack accompanies a forthcoming acclaimed documentary chronicling the secret history of the Roland TR-808 drum machine from You Know Films, in association with Atlantic Films.

In the video, Charlie Puth croons from a piano while lamenting his troubles with Instagram models while Lil Wayne trades verses. But what you see in the video isn’t always what it appears, with the models turning into cardboard cut-outs, or maybe even a figment of their imagination? The video explores the notion of people putting up a facade on social media, and manages to do so with style.

“Nothing But Trouble” marks the first single from Big Beat Records’ hugely anticipated soundtrack for 808, the landmark documentary chronicling the incredible story of the influential Roland TR-808 drum machine. The comprehensive soundtrack companion, slated to arrive later this year in conjunction with the film’s official release, gathers an array of era-spanning tracks born of and inspired by the 808, including 1982’s world-changing “Planet Rock” by Afrika Bambaataa & The Soulsonic Force, which will be accompanied by a brand-new remix package featuring interpretations by some of today’s brightest and most forward-thinking producers.
