Before there was Feed Me, there was Spor: Jon Gooch’s revered drum ‘n’ bass project. While in recent years the UK producer has turned his attention almost exclusively to his newer alias, the dance world has been clamoring for the return of Spor. A few months back, Gooch casually announced an official remix of The Prodigy on Twitter. With less than 160 characters, he managed to turn the dance world on its head with the news.
I don’t know about you, but by the time I reach Friday, I’m ready to roundhouse just about anyone/thing that stands in my way of the weekend. This spirited & irritable state of mind is cured not with the hypnotic thump of four-on-the-floor, instead, it is the humdrum of live drums and distorted guitars that takes my brain on a temporary vacation to the stars. Too Cold For House Music is exactly what the doctor ordered with spliff-ready Rasta vibes to beach primed surf rock and even some alternative electronic to help you transition to the freedom of the weekend. Don’t let the man get you down, man, WE MADE IT!
Bassnectar joins the ranks of Rustie and Picard Brothers in remixing UK bass music legend Joker. The latter’s Midnight EP is out now on Kapsize, and the Brit from Bristol is sporting a decidedly subtle remix from the Sultan of Smash. Keeping much of the original in place, Lorin Ashton tweaks the drums and synths just so, but enough to give it that signature Bassnectar sound.
Electronic Producer & DJ, Lampa, starts the new year off strong by releasing his take on David Guetta’s highly-renown 2011 hit, “Titanium” with a progressive remix of his own. Coupled with his One Republic – Apologize remix released late last October, it isn’t hard to see the potential that lies in 2015 for the young producer.
One of the most creative acts in the game is Exmag and keep managing to push the boundaries on every single production and their latest is no different. Today we have the premiere of their newest remix, this time taking on the intriguing rapper Maal A Goomba. The songs lyrics “Bout To Bring The Lambo Back.. How About The Lamborghini” are equally ridiculous and fun, and set the tone for Exmag to completely reconstruct the instrumental leaving us with a fresh song that’s impossible to throw a single genre label on it. Sit back and enjoy the premiere of this uniquely awesome new track and grab an exclusive free download. Enjoy!
The Shanti Planti collective has a special treat for you. The UK-based production community has compiled a stellar lineup of its own featured artists to bring in proceeds for the Save The Children campaign in an effort to promote awareness and support for the global youth who are affected by the tragedies of our world.
Pomo’s new EP, “The Other Day”, is comprised of eight beautifully crafted tracks, making the EP one of 2014′s finest. There are no throwaways here. The entire EP, from start to finish, is nothing short of an electronic masterpiece. Heart melting melodies that’ll have you slow dancing in front of the fireplace.
If a forthcoming remix with Curses isn’t exciting enough, Skream has plenty more up his sleeve for 2015. Oliver Jones recently shared with Annie Mac on her BBC Radio 1 Bedtime Mix show that an album is in the works for 2015: “I’ve got a single coming out with someone and then they’re gonna announce that I’m doing an album next year, finally,” he said. “I get a little anxious. I’m happy for me, it’s everyone else that drives me mad. Because of this sort of spread of my career, there’s been a lot in one place…I’ve had such a solid fan base from the start who are diehard fans and then there are the middle of the road fans who didn’t really know but thought they should like me. So I’ve got a lot of people who like to criticize but I don’t really care because as long as whoever I give the record to is happy, as long as I’m happy ultimately, as long as everyone likes it…”
It is something special indeed when individuals take it upon themselves to pour endless hours, energy and love into a project that reflects their deepest passion. David Block, better known as The Human Experience to his fans, has done just that with the release of his full-length album on Jumpsuit Records.
After just a week after throwing a successful SOLD-OUT 2 night party at the iconic Red Rocks known as Rowdytown, we are blessed with even more Big Gigantic greatness. The duo have been the latest targets to take the reigns of Diplo’s well known Diplo and Friends radio show on BBC Radio 1Xtra.
