Chainsmokers

Chainsmokers

Hakkasan. The brand is world renowned. No matter where you go, you mention Hakkasan and people will immediately recognize the name. First opened as a chain of very upscale restaurants and now most recently as on of the top clubs in the world, Hakkasan, has grown to a global scale. Housed in the MGM grand this monument of dance, music, and trend is the place to be and party on the Las Vegas strip. The world’s best DJs including Tiesto and Calvin Harris make almost weekly trips to Hakkasan to play to an always raucous and energetic crowd. This is the Vegas party scene. In addition to the top acts, Hakkasan also looks to attract young up and coming talent. The Chainsmokers may not be in this category anymore as their star has risen greatly in the past year or so, but when they first were resident DJs they were. Playing on Tuesday and Thursday nights, the duo that is the Chainsmokers kept building up their repertoire of tunes and as of now they have to be one of the most popular acts in electronic dance music and probably one can argue in pop and mainstream music as well.

This past Friday, the Chainsmokers made a not so special visit to Hakkasan. I say not so special because these guys are here almost every other week, but no matter what they always bring it and when you are in attendance you certainly feel like it’s a special show because of that. Jumping up and down on the decks, drinking out of the bottle, spraying champagne, MC’ing like a champ, these guys are a performance to say the least. You can tell they love it. They feed off energy. On Friday you can say that there was energy flowing through the framework of the entire club.

Getting on a little past 1am, the Chainsmokers played an always eclectic set with their usual hits as Until You Were, Roses, Don’t Let Me Down as well as new tune, New York City. If you have plans on visiting Vegas, you have to check out the Hakkasan calendar HERE and line up your dates with the next Chainsmokers show. You will not be disappointed and for more info on their music please check out their Beatport page HERE.
