Mophono
A true legend of the San Francisco underground, Mophono has collabed with Flying Lotus and The Gaslamp Killer, released music with Brainfeeder, Bastard Jazz, CB Records, and OM, and played shows with artists like Bonobo, Squarepusher, Amon Tobin, and Nightmares On Wax, and this EP is some of his finest work to date. On this release, you will hear a variety of unworldly sounds mashed against a mix of loud, distorted rock drums and vintage drum machine beats. XLR8R called it an “engrossing outing,” and Mophono himself describes his sound as “like driving a vintage European sports car through a futuristic Tron soundscape.”
Mophono has also released an extremely cool mini documentary, where he shows off all his funky gadgets (boomboxes/moog synths) and demonstrates how he creates his own original sounds.
