Ultra Music Festival 15′
Ultra. This one word could mean so many things and describe that much more about anything. Yet you say this one single syllable word to say someone in college or better yet to an electronic music fan, chances are you’ll get a response such as “are you going this year”, “I’d love to go”, “oh my gosh, that’s my favorite” and the list goes on. The word Ultra has become synonymous for the one and only Ultra Music Festival.
Started the year before the millennium, in 1999, Ultra has morphed from nothing much than a one day festival attracting a few thousand to a juggernaut of a music and dance gathering of more than 150,000 people. That is some growth over the past 15 or so years. Each year the festival gets even bigger with more people, better production along with the same ole crazy highlights of amazing acts and performances. Electronic Music is not slowing down and Ultra is a testament to the continual rise and popularity of this amazing cultural movement.
In 2015, Ultra, which many of you know as UMF, will be held in Bayfront Park. This three day festival is expected to sell out and wristbands have already been mailed off to festival goers who have either purchased the ticket outright or have gone through with the ever more popular installment payment plan. The lineup this year is absolutely mind boggling and no matter what your taste in music is or what you want to see at Ultra, you will be happy thanks to the number of stages and the amazing lineup the folks at Ultra have managed to put together.
Looking over the roster and being a fan of the big names that always bring out the crowds, you cannot go wrong with Friday with the likes of Avicii, Tiesto, Afrojack, Alesso, and Dash Berlin playing back to back sets on the mainstage. Of course you cannot go wrong as well on the other days with headliners such as Hardwell and David Guetta playing on Saturday and Sunday respectively. The Live Stage with Royksopp, Kygo, Krewella, Odesza, among others will also be quite a treat as well and we’re looking to catch a few of those performances since many times they only happen on a blue moon.
Overall it should be a great event with some amazing highlights and memories to take back with you. Ultra 2015 will be one for the books. Tickets are still available HERE and to check out the current and final lineup just look above. See you there.
