Tiesto
The date was Friday June 20th. The location was Las Vegas, specifically Hakkasan Nightclub.
The crowd was ready to have a good time. It was the eve of the start of the famous and and also some years infamous Electric Daisy Carnival. Overall the atmosphere was that of excitement. The crowd looked good. The venue looked like it was in top shape. The DJs looked ready to get it going.
MOTi took the decks as the crowd began to fill the ginormous cavern that is the main room of Hakkasan. On his meteoric rise to the top of house music, MOTi has been on a complete tear as of recent. Having shared the main stage at this year’s Ultra Music Festival, MOTi is lucky enough to call Tiesto one of his closest friends, confidants, colleagues, and collaborators. Expect a lot of great things to come from this young man in the very near future. Some banging tracks played during his set include, his collaboration with Martin Garrix in Virus – How About Now, Blow Your Mind with Tiesto and his original single House of Now.
When most people all over the country turn the lights off and get ready to sleep until morning, the opposite could be no more than true in Las Vegas and especially at Hakkasan when Tiesto is in town. Getting on stage a little bit past 1am, Tiesto began his set to a thunderous cheer from the crowd and for the next two hours played to the delight of the at capacity crowd. The usual suspects were at play including, Secrets featuring Vassy with KSHMR, The Only Way Is Up along with Martin Garrix and Colors featuring Andreas Moe, who Tiesto did along with the #1 DJ in the world Hardwell.
Overall it was a great night and one to remember. To check out more dates for Tiesto’s shows at Hakkasan go HERE to check out their calendar.
But wait there is more. This was EDC weekend and that meant we had to go to the max, which meant a double dose of Tiesto. Our second escapade of the weekend involved water, champagne showers, heat, and the best pool party on the strip. This could only mean one thing. Wet Republic or as they called it that day, The Republic of Tiesto. Aptly named, Sunday’s gathering of partygoers at the MGM’s Wet Republic was a blast. Yes it was a Sunday, but who cares it was the closing of EDC and surprisingly enough people still had enough juice in their batteries to party the day away in the 100 plus degree Vegas sun.
