Madeon Goes Home

Madeon Goes Home

Madeon the edm whiz kid that has been on a red hot streak has just officially released his brand new single called Home which is part of his forthcoming 1st complete artist album. The album called Adventure is due out at the end of the month. If you are asking yourself, who is on these vocals. Well it’s Madeon himself. That’s right, he’s got quite a voice as well as stellar production and DJ skills. What a talent.

So how does Madeon even go about creating a track like this? Well to go into his creative process, Madeon himself has said that “thing that I do frequently, where I lock myself in the studio for 24 hours. I wake up in the morning, have a cup of coffee, start a clock and I have a countdown of 24 hours. I don’t leave the room and I have to write three original songs from scratch. It’s very, very intense, very physical, because sleep deprivation kicks in. Sleep deprivation shuts down a few sections of my brain, it makes me feel like I’m floating. It’s the closest thing to drugs that I would do. I start doing things and it’s no longer ideas going through the brain to the body to communicate with the studio, it’s like all melting together a little. I like it, actually. And it’s very intense emotionally, because you can never stop, you have to work non-stop. The last track on the album, Home, was written that way. 16th or 17th hour, sleep deprivation had started to impact, I was just in that exhaustion phase and I started feeling incredibly vulnerable and incapable of writing music. So I wrote a song about that kind of feeling, about giving up. And because I was alone in the studio and I have to finish it, I sang on it myself: I’m not a singer, but it was interesting and touching to have those fragile, vulnerable vocals on there.”
