Klingande

French melodic house pioneer Klingande is back with a remix package of his latest successful single; the remix package for “Somewhere New” featuring M-22 is out now via Ultra.

Led by a soulful female vocal and a gentle guitar melody, a soft bassline and upbeat piano chords make the original a danceable yet relaxed summery track. Unsurprisingly, it’s been a hit since it’s release, already having hit Gold status in Sweden and reaching eight million streams on Spotify in a month.

After the original and extended mixes, the package kicks off with a remix from Solidisco. Upping the tempo with stomping drums and catchy keys, it’s a solid output from the New York duo. Austrian duo Naxxos put in a more relaxed remix full of glitchy synth chords, whilst fellow French producer Epic Empire introduces brass chords to his slowed-down take on the record. Original collaborator M-22 rounds off the package with a club-focused edit.

The single was accompanied by the first ever Facebook live streamed music video. Aside from the rehearsals, there were no edits – the whole video was filmed in one single, live shot, in a game-changing move for the future of music videos. You can watch it back on Klingande’s Facebook.

Despite the enormous success of his breakthrough track “Jubel” – with over 72 million streams on Spotify and 144M views on Youtube and counting – Klingande is not one to rest on his laurels, and 2016 is already on course to be his most successful year to date. Having already built momentum with last year’s “Riva” (with 36M Spotify streams) “Losing U,” released in February of this year, has already amassed over two million views on Youtube and nearly 8.5 million streams on Spotify. With the promise of lots of new music, as well as a live tour in the works that will see him bringing out musicians playing the guitar, violin, harmonica, drums, saxophone and even singers, Klingande shows absolutely no signs of putting on the brakes.
