Calvin Harris’ appropriately titled Summer anthem “Summer” has become quite the hit across the globe, also spinning a string of remixes including the MASSIVE trap remix from Club Killers among others. Well today we have Rhode Island exploding rapper Mike Stud flipping the track into something amazing. Fresh off a #1 charting debut album Closer Mike had set his sights to kill and did just that with this track offering some solid verses. Featuring The Chain Gang Of 1974, this is an uncharacteristically soft track from Dillon Francis. As a progressive with a masculine male vocal, it’d be an unconventional but great festival anthem. I can totally see this being the wrap up song of the summer (holy crap, is summer really almost over???). Anyway, I figure the softening of the sound is due to the influence of Sultan and Ned Shepard, who even though they are unlikely collaborators, what has emerged is a incredibly easy to listen to tune. Just yesterday, UK sensation Disclosure landed on late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel’s live stage in the middle of Hollywood to perform their certified platinum hit, “Latch.” The recognized tune featured a live performance from vocalist Sam Smith, a British singer still hot from the release of his own celebrated album, In the Lonely Hour. The powerhouse trio paid homage to the track that, to many, placed both acts on the pop music map and was the first fuel to the fire that blasted them forward in their careers.

Listeners of the channel BPM might be familiar with Utopia as they dedicated one day a month to throwback EDM. Since they came up with the idea in January the response has been overwhelming.
