Ultra Music Festival releases ticket info for 2015

Ultra Music Festival has made a handful of major changes as of late; first, it was the 18+ age restriction that was announced in early September. Now, Miami’s flagship event has announced it will undergo even greater alterations for its upcoming year. For the first time in Ultra history, General Admission ticket prices have been reduced as a ‘thank you’ to its fans for growing the festival’s base over the last 17 years. GA tickets will go on sale at 1pm EST on September 30th for $499.95 – about a $50 decrease since 2014′s event.

Carl Cox prepares to host his first ever camp at Burning Man

With Burning Man just two weeks away, we’ve learned some very exciting news. Carl Cox and crew will be headed to the Playa this year to build their very own camp. According to UK ticketing outlet Skiddle, who spoke to key members of Cox’s team in late July, Carl’s camp will be titled The PlayGround Experience and will occupy a space “that is probably bigger than Glastonbury.” As is the fashion of various other techno mega-camps, Robot Heart being the most obvious, it will be more about the experience and less about the names on the bill. In fact, Carl Cox’s name will likely not be associated with the camp at all according to Yoms, the camp coordinator for The PlayGround Experience.

Electric Zoo Is Banning CamelBaks This Year

Electric Zoo Is Banning CamelBaks This Year

A few days ago, Mad Decent’s annual Block Party had a lot of festival-goers up in arms about its extensive restrictions on what attendees weren’t allowed to bring with them, and while some of these banned items were obvious (drugs, weapons, fireworks, etc.), plenty of other items that were also banned (LED lights, pacifiers, and even Kandi bracelets) had much of the EDM community thinking the restrictions were going too far, including Insomniac’ Events founder, Pasquale Rotella. Out of the plethora of things attendees weren’t allowed to bring to the Block Party, however, they were allowed to bring an empty CamelBak Water Pack. Not only unbelievably convenient for day-long raging outside in the heat, a CamelBak also ends up becoming a beacon for safety at a festival to anyone else who you come across that needs a drink — there’s no telling how many people have been saved from dehydration all thanks to a friend or a kind stranger carrying this nifty knapsack of water.
